8 October 2007

From the Membership Secretary/Treasurer: I have just been told by the printer that the Annual should be dispatched at the end of this week (once the Postal Strike is over) - which is a great relief, as he has had the copy since the end of July!! So if you have ordered it - it won't be long now. (And if you haven't and want one, I have allowed for a few spares - e-mail me for prices to different parts of the world

The 'September' Chronicle will follow shortly - once the labels for the Annual are safely used, I will send him the ones for the Chronicle (doesn't do to confuse him too much!)

Many apologies for the delay on both these items

26 March 2007

Once again apologies for the long gap between these contributions. Most of you will know from various Chronicles that things have been rather at sixes and sevens since last July. All now not too bad, but very busy on all fronts, so please look out on GirlsOwn and the Delphi Forum for odd snippets. I have done some work on the EJO and Abbey Girls pages on Wikipedia, so do have a look at them.

In the mean time I have been writing an introduction to the centenary edition of Goblin Island, which GGBP are reprinting later this year - check their web page for updates on progress.

Gwyneth has now retired from being archivist, and we think we have another taker for the job - look out for news in the May Chronicle.

22 May 2006

Sorry for the long silence! I have just been e-mailed by someone asking if the Society was still in existence, as the site ‘hadn’t been updated for over a year’.... Of course much of it has, including new links to the South Australia Website, but I admit this page hadn’t had anything done to it for a while - mainly because the Delphi Forum seems to be the most active place and so I haven’t added anything here.

The Message/Discussion Board has been discontinued, as the recurring problems with hijacking became ever more of a nuisance, so Helen has given us our own section of the Delphi site.

I have been told this weekend that the May Chronicle is currently at the printers, so shouldn’t be too long in reaching you all.

May I also tell people who haven’t renewed yet that they will find a reminder letter with their May Chronicle, and that they are now too late to be included in the membership list which is currently in the process of being compiled.

Don’t forget I have supplies of both my booklets:

Family Trees for EJO's Abbey Series
    (£2.00 + SAE members’ price, otherwise £2.50 + SAE)
    The Books of EJO
    (£1.00 + SAE members’ price, otherwise £1.50 + SAE)

— so please order from me if you want either, although Gillian, our Merchandise
Co-ordinator
, has a small supply of each for people who are ordering several things at once. In either case, cheques payable to Abbey Chronicle, please, not to me personally.

Gillian also has the back copies of the Chronicle from No. 19 - 40 at £2.00 each, 41 onwards £2.50 each. She also holds stock of dark green binders for the Chronicle, which each take 12 issues, and cost £4.50. Give My Love to the Stars - Ribbie’s Book the correspondence between EJO and the little boy who was the original of ‘Wriggles’ is available from her for £7.50 per copy. 'Rainbows' and ‘Landscape’ pens are also available at 50p each if ordered with another item, or with SAE; 80p including UK post. All prices would need extra added to allow for overseas post - please e-mail the editor for latest overseas price details, or send SAE to Gillian.
So if you want to order any of these items, including Ribbie and pens, please contact
Mrs Gillian Jackson, whose address is always shown in the current Chronicle.

Please always make your cheques payable to Abbey Chronicle.
